Sandblasting and Priming Part 1

A couple weeks ago I dropped some parts off at Alternative Blasting to get all the old rust and paint blasted off. I took in the hood, fenders, doors, trunk, inner fenders and running boards. They were finished last weekend, so since it was a decent (not raining) weekend, went to pick them up. They turned out great!
This weekend I had to get some primer on them so they wouldn't turn back into rust heaps. My dad and I set up a make-do paint booth out of a carport, and went to town. I shot PPG DP50 on the parts, and they turned out really nice, minus all the spots that need some serious bodywork attention. My future plans are to brace the body, remove it from the frame rails, and get it all blasted within the next month or so. This might take some good timing and cooperative weather, so we will see how soon it can be done. Here are some pics of the finished parts...

How It All Started

Well since this is my first post, I thought I would get it started with a few pictures of my latest project - 1937 Willys Sedan. I just recently completed a 1958 VW Karmann Ghia Coupe, which took me the better part of 10 years to complete. I know there is no similarity between these two, but I have been thinking about doing a street rod for quite a while now.
I got the '37 from my dad, who has a few too many projects of his own ('37 Topolino, '47 Anglia Tourer, '48 Anglia Roadster, '58 Popular, '53 Austin Ute, etc..). So he knew I wanted a new project and figured that we could work on this together.
My original plans (although they will probably change) are to do as much of the car myself as possible. I will probably outsource most of the chassis and suspension components, but install myself. I am planning on going the air ride route (Fatman IFS and Art Morrison 4-link), backed by an Art Morrison frame.
Since I got the car in my garage, I have basically just been disassembling it down to bare bones so it can be media blasted and primed. The car is very solid, except a few rusty spots in the bottom of the back doors. Anyway, here are some pics of how it all started:
