Sandblasting and Priming Part 1
A couple weeks ago I dropped some parts off at Alternative Blasting to get all the old rust and paint blasted off. I took in the hood, fenders, doors, trunk, inner fenders and running boards. They were finished last weekend, so since it was a decent (not raining) weekend, went to pick them up. They turned out great!
This weekend I had to get some primer on them so they wouldn't turn back into rust heaps. My dad and I set up a make-do paint booth out of a carport, and went to town. I shot PPG DP50 on the parts, and they turned out really nice, minus all the spots that need some serious bodywork attention. My future plans are to brace the body, remove it from the frame rails, and get it all blasted within the next month or so. This might take some good timing and cooperative weather, so we will see how soon it can be done. Here are some pics of the finished parts...
